Title: Steven Laitz Music Theory Pedagogy Workshops & Lecture/Recital
The intent of this application is to bring the noted music-theory pedagogue and author, Professor Steven Laitz (The Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY), to conduct music-theory workshops, to observe music-theory lectures, to provide feedback on the music-theory curriculum, and to give a public lecture/recital that will address the incorporation of music analysis in performance practice (the lecture/recital will address the incorporation of music analysis in performance practice (the lecture/recital will include a member of our voice faculty). This project will improve our teaching efficacy and allow us to provide an optimal learning environment for our students in accordance with NASM (National Association of Schools of Music) standards.
