Title: Visiting Artists Ricardo Souza and Konstantinos Karathanasis
We propose to bring to the University of Utah for a two-day residency during the 2011-2012 academic year Brazilian percussionist Ricardo Souza, a specialist in music for electronics and percussion, and Greek composer Konsantino Karathanasis, a rising star in the medium of electro-acoustic composition. They will bring knowledge, musical skills, and perspectives unique to their cultural backgrounds, in events that bringtogether percussion and composition students, and students beyond the School of Music.
