Title: CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute

This proposal seeks funding for training at the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah University. Fulfilling the mission of the Dee Grant Award, this training will enhance the effectiveness of our teaching as we learn the most modern practices relating to the instruction of Contemporary Commercial Music singing. It will positively impact our department curricula by allowing us to incorporate up-to-date teaching methods based on functional voice training and recent voice science research.

-------

Attending the 2016 CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute was a tremendous experience that has informed not only my teaching but that of the other voice faculty in the Department of Theatre. As a result, we are better equipped to bring techniques and understanding to our students based on the most current research in the field. I am grateful for the opportunity to attend and wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Council of Dee Fellows for making it possible.
