A series of public performances and workshops supporting the Department of Languages and Literature's 2009-10 intellectual theme "Border Crossings." In three public events, a performance artist, a poet, and a photojournalist will illuminate "borders" from ethnic, cultural, artistic, and linguistic angles. In addition, workshops will guide students to thoughtful reflection on borders (geographic, linguistic, cultural, political, and identity). The performances are free and open to the public and workshops are part of the core curriculum of the Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies.
